Jerseys Through Time

Here are jerseys that have been worn by various Rockford, Illinois hockey Alumni. Rockford Hockey Heritage not only follows current players of all hockey teams in the Rockford, Illinois area, but it also follows former players and where they have gone on to play as well.

Justin Brown This jersey was worn during the 2006-2007 season. In the 2006-2007 season, Cherry Valley native and former Rockford Hockey Club Member and Rockford Icemen, Justin Brown was a forward for the Illinois State University Icebirds. During the season, Justin scored a total of 40 points. In 2006-2007, the Icebirds won the MACHA Silver Division Championship.

Matt Lee This jersey was worn during the 2006-2007 season. In the 2006-2007 season, Rockford native and former Rockford Hockey Club Member and Rockford Icemen, Matt Lee was a forward for the Illinois State University Icebirds. During the season, Justin scored a total of 58 points. In 2006-2007, the Icebirds won the MACHA Silver Division Championship.

Tim Matthews This jersey was worn during the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 seasons. In the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 seasons, Rockford native and former Rockford Hockey Club Member and Rockford Icemen, Tim Matthews was a goalie for the Green Bay Deacons. In 2002-2003, the Deacons won the GLHL Championship. This championship would be the Deacon's 10th league title in 26 years.

Troy Mattila These jerseys were worn throughout various seasons by Troy Mattila. In the 2006-2007 season, Troy wore the Jr Blues and Chicago Steel jerseys. In 2006, Rockford native and former Rockford Hockey Club Member and Rockford Icemen, Troy Mattila was a 7th round draft pick (190th overall), for the NY Islanders. In the 2005-2006 season, Troy was traded from Des Moines to Springfield where he played for the Jr. Blues in the NAHL. In 2006-2007, Troy was traded to the Chicago Steel in the USHL where he played until mid year, where he was traded back to the Springfield Jr. Blues. In the 2007-2008 season, Troy played for the Tri-City Storm in the USHL. Currently today, Troy is playing for Dartmouth College for the 2008-2009 season.

Dayne Pyfer This jersey was worn during the 2006-2007 season. In the 2006-2007 season, Rockford native and former Rockford Hockey Club Member and Rockford Icemen, Dayne Pyfer was a goalie for the St. Johns Johnnies Junior Varsity Hockey Team. In 2003-2004, the Johnnies won the Division III JV MIAC Championship.

Joseph Sacksteder This jersey was worn during the 2003-2004 season. In the 2003-2004 season, Rockford native and former Rockford Hockey Club Member and Rockford Icemen, Joseph Sacksteder was a goalie for the St. Johns Johnnies Junior Varsity Hockey Team. In 2003-2004, the Johnnies won the Division III JV MIAC Championship.

Eric Turnrose This jersey set was worn during the 2008-2009 season. In the 2008-2009 season, Rockford native and former Rockford Hockey Club Member and Rockford Icemen, Eric Turnrose was a goalie for the Vernon Hills Capitals of the GLHL.
